Public Invitation to Budget Work Sessions

The Cecil County Board of Education encourages the public to attend their work sessions on the Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) Budget Request. While all Board of Education meetings are open to the public, your input is greatly appreciated during consideration of the budget for the upcoming school year.

On Monday, December 17, at 5:30 p.m., an introduction to the budget request will be provided.  Topics to be discussed include: revenue projections, restricted program funding, enrollment/class sizes, and the construction budget.

The Administrative Services budget will be discussed on Wednesday, January 9, at 5:30 p.m.

The Education Services budget will be covered on Wednesday, January 23, at 5:30 p.m.

An overview of the entire budget (including any revisions made during the previous sessions) will be presented during the FY14 Budget Hearing on Monday, January 28, at 6:00 p.m. The results of the stakeholders’ budget priorities survey will also be reviewed.

There will be an opportunity for public comments on the budget during of each meeting.

All meetings will be held at the George Washington Carver Education Leadership Center, 201 Booth Street, Elkton.

Meeting materials (including budget spreadsheets and/or slides highlighting budget information) will be available on the Board of Education’s BoardDocs site prior to each meeting.
