Grade 1 News

First graders are off to a great start this year! We continue to work on the following reading strategies in whole group and guided reading: predicting, summarizing, questioning, evaluating, monitoring. In math, we are working on subtraction and money. We are beginning a new unit in social studies on cultures, and in science we will soon begin a unit on pebbles, sand, and silt. Please continue reading with your child every night and reviewing math flashcards. We still go outside for Directed Play, so please dress your child accordingly. We look forward to a fabulous November with your children!!
