Second Grade Happenings
Writing
- Students are focusing on using highly descriptive words to write a description of a specific person, place or thing.
- During the Thanksgiving holiday we are working on a "Thankful during Thanksgiving" writing piece in which the students take some time to write about 3 things that they are thankful for in their lives.
Math
-We are currently wrapping up our unit on Problem Solving.
- Our next unit is another geometry unit.
Reading
-Our second theme "Nature Walk" is coming to an end, the students will be taking their theme test.
- We will follow theme 2 with a focus on Fables.
Science
- We are preparing for our next kit, which is Balance & Motion.
Social Studies
- We have just begun our Geography unit, which focuses on the essential elements of maps.
General
-During the month of December we will be making gingerbread houses with our 5th grade friends.
