2009-2010

Our CMES vision is a respectful, responsible, caring, and safe environment
that promotes and supports academic success.

As a SCHOOL, we will…

As a FAMILY, we will…

As a STUDENT, I will...

  • Make CMES a welcoming and positive place to learn.
  • Teach and model the CMES expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, Caring, and Safe.
  •  Provide high quality instruction to meet all students’ needs based on formative and summative assessment data.
  •  Provide opportunities for families to be involved in activities to support what their  children are learning in school. (Open House, educational nights, PTO, volunteering, etc.)
  • Use conferences, newsletters, surveys, planners, notes, and phone calls to maintain open two-way communication between home and school.
  • Help parents to understand and make decisions concerning their child’s needs and progress. (mid-term reports, progress reports, Parent Portal, conferences, notes, etc.)
  •   Be accessible to families through phone calls, conferences, notes, and emails.
  • Communicate a positive attitude about learning and the importance of school.
  • Support the CMES expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, Caring, and Safe.
  • Make sure my child is well rested and maintains on-time, regular attendance.
  • Ensure that my child has the necessary materials/supplies, including those needed for specials, and a lunch or lunch money each day.
  • Check my child’s book bag daily.  Read and review important information/graded papers, and return appropriate materials in a timely manner.
  • Support my child in completing homework and make-up work.  Provide time for reading and practicing math skills each night.
  • Maintain open two-way communication with my child’s teachers.
  • Keep my child’s emergency contact information up to date.
  • Come to school with a positive attitude each day.
  • Follow the CMES expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, Caring, and Safe.
  • Respect myself, peers, staff, school, and family.
  • Accept responsibility for my actions.
  • Be prepared and organized with the proper materials/supplies, including those needed for specials, and a lunch or lunch money.
  • Bring home my take-home folder, share all papers with my parents, and bring my cleaned out folder to school every day.
  • Complete my classwork and homework daily with my best effort.
  • Read and practice math skills at home each night.
  • Do my best to make my family, school, and community proud of me.

Our Instructional Improvement Plan will drive our vision through these school-wide goals:
