Principally Speaking
Can you believe it, the first marking period has ended and we are ready for Parent Conferences. By now you should have received an appointment for your child(ren)’s conference. As in the past, for the convenience of families who have more than one child in our building, we schedule your conferences back to back.
I hope everyone will be able to keep their appointed conference. This is an excellent time for teachers and parents to have a private conversation about each student’s strengths and areas that need improvement. It is also a time for sharing vital information so that together we can make the learning experience for each child as successful as possible.
Because teachers have several conferences to hold in so few days, each conference is 15 minutes long. Rather than get the day’s schedule off track for everyone, if you feel more time is needed, please schedule another conference for before or after school on another day.
Finally, I would like to wish each and everyone of you a healthy and happy Thanksgiving. Although each family suffers their own issues, we can find so much to be thankful for. For myself, I am thankful for each day that I get to come to work and be a part of your child’s education.
