December 2010 York presented Charlestown Elementary with a check for $5000 for the purchase of 2 additional Smart Boards in the classrooms. These boards were placed in a first grade and fourth grade classrooms.
February 2008 York presented Charlestown with a check to continue the financial support for learning at Charlestown Elementary. The money from our business partners will be used in the areas of technology and educational programs in the classroom.
January 2007 York presented Charlestown with a check to continue their financial support for learning at Charlestown Elementary.Our business partners, York Building Products, have also provided us with support in the area of technology. All of our teachers have access to the website, “Reading A-Z”. This site provides the reading lessons for teachers and students to use in class and for home reading. Our first and second grade use these books for the Books in a Bag program. They also provided funding for the purchase two keyboarding programs
May 2, 2004, York pledged to continue to support the education programat Charlestown Elementary.
York has been busy helping to support technology at Charlestown Elementary. They purchased some of the new computers for our classrooms. They also have agreed to help buy some site licenses for the software for our computers.
York Building Products, Inc. is in a business partnership with Charlestown Elementary. They have pledged $2500 toward a matching funds grant that would enable us to purchase math and science equipment (if the grant is awarded to Charlestown).
They supported the school in 99 - 00 school year by purchasing computer tables for the computer lab. Also the helped buy site licenses for software in our building.
They supported the school, in the 98-99 school year, by purchasing the 4 iMac computers which are located in the library. They purchased overhead and classroom calculators for our school. York also sponsored our homework folders.
York sent personnel to help with the tree planting, fourth and fifth grade students did in April 1999 for Arbor Day activities. York Building Products Inc. is environmentally aware and is concerned with supporting the community.
