Grade Level News
In second grade, we are finishing our theme in reading called “Around Town.” Our next theme is theme 4 called “Amazing Animals.” We will be reading stories about animals and all the amazing things they really can do. Please continue to practice vocabulary and spelling words at home each week with your child.
In math, we have been working on 2-and 3- digit addition. These skills tend to be difficult for some children. If your child is having trouble in either of these areas, please continue to practice at home. It is important that students continue to do their homework each night to reinforce what they are learning in class. We have been pleased with the progress students are making with learning their basic facts. Please continue to review math facts at home each week to prepare for our Friday fact tests.
Our second marking period book report project is due Thursday, January 11th. With this book report, students need to read a factual story about a wild animal. With their book reports, they need to complete a diorama of the animal in its habitat to share with the class. Thank you for your continued support!
