Meet Mrs. Elsie Harrigan, Principal

We are looking forward to a successful school year for each student at Chesapeake City Elementary School.  This year brings full implementation of the Common Core State Standards in Reading, Math and STEM for students in Kindergarten through grade 5.  Instruction and assignments should look different, as teachers and students begin to focus more on developing conceptual ideas and understandings and less on memorization and rote skills.  You can support your child by encouraging reading, writing, exploration and math problem solving whenever possible.  Home and school connection is important. Please contact your child’s teacher or the school office with questions or concerns regarding any school related issues.
