Counselor's Corner
Thank You:
Our Coat Drive was very successful, and our hat and mitten “Giving Tree” is filled with many donations!
We have many mentors coming in every week who volunteer to work one-on-one with children. We appreciate the donation of your time to our CCES community. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in mentoring a student. It’s never too late to start!
Classroom Guidance:
We have just begun our Academic unit. Over the next several weeks, we will be reviewing strategies for school success: Responsible Listening, Organization Skills, Trying our Best, Study & Homework Skills, and Handling School Stresses. Be sure to ask you child what they learned in Guidance class!
Group & Individual Guidance:
Now that the school year is well under way, please feel free to contact me if you have a concern about your child and would like for me to meet with him/her individually or in a small group setting.
I have just begun our second round of groups where we will be discussing Changing Families, Friendship Skills, and Anger & Self Control over weekly lunch dates. Our next group session will begin at the beginning of February.
Character Education:
Our trait for the months of November/December was CARING. So many of our students have shown kind thoughts, kind words & kind actions!
Congratulations to the students for being recognized in their class for showing exceptional CARING! Our recognition breakfast for these students will be held Monday, January 7. See you then!
