The Devils Tower is located in the northeast part of Wyoming. It was the first national monument to be established by presidential proclamation. It is considered holy to Native Americans in that part of Wyoming. It rises up to be 865 feet tall. Its’ base is 1000 feet in diameter. |

President Theodore Roosevelt declared it. It is made up of volcanic rock. Millions of Americans see it every year. It looks down over the bell Fourche River. It is the tallest rock in the U.S. That is one big rock. |

It is a plateau. The top stretches for 1.5 acres. Also it has plant life on the top of it. It was America first national monument. It was declared a national monument in 1906. |
