The Golden Gate Bridge is located in California.  It is one of the longest bridges in the world. It is 1.7 miles long. It rises 200 feet above the water.  Also it is 90 feet wide.

The color of the bridge is orange vermilla.  It contains 88,000 tons of steel.  It was started in 1933   It cost over 33 million dollars.  It connects California to the peninsula of San Francisco.

     The bridge opened in 1937.  40 million cars pass the bridge a year.  The lowest amount of cars to pass was 20 million.  It is a suspension bridge.  It was almost destroyed by the earthquakes of California.
