Do you know the 4 presidents faces on Mount Rushmore?  George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincolnare the faces on Mount Rushmore.  The sculptor was Gutzon Borglum.  The construction was started in 1927.  One head was 5 stories high. 

    That is like having a 465 foot head.  It took about 15 years to complete.  Sadly Borglum died before it was done.  His son Lincoln had to finish it for him.  The statue was completed sometime in 1942.

       When it was complete it rose 5725 feet above sea level.  It is taller than the great pyramids of Egypt.  It is in Rapid City, South Dakota.   It is a part of the national park system.  The four presidents look proudly over the United States of America.
