The Lewis and Clark Expedition is one of the most memorable events in American history. The two-year journey to the Pacific Ocean paved the way for the United States to expand. It created a whole new country. Of course this would not have been possible without Thomas Jefferson and Sacagawea. Each played an important role in the expedition, one way or another.
