Chihuahuas are great traveling companions, because you could even carry one in your backpack or your jacket, because they know when to be quiet.
They are extremely loyal and devoted to their owners, and they are very protective of their owners. They are also very affectionate and they love their owners. They are easier to handle than other breeds, but they still need just as much care as other breeds. It is the smallest of all dog breeds in the world. The Chihuahua is the only "natural" toy breed, which just means that it was not bred down from any larger breeds just like other toy dog breeds were.
Chihuahuas are the smallest dogs in the world measuring up to 6 to 9 inches, and weighing 6 pounds, but their weight can also be smaller or larger. Their coat can be long or short, and can be various colors that can be solid, streaked, or marked. They are great lap dogs because they are small and cuddly, and they are also very friendly. Chihuahuas form strong bonds with their owners, and sometimes they even form bonds with one or two specific people. They love to sleep under the covers with their owner at night, because they like to feel protected. Also, they do not have to be "yappy" and "ankle biting" dogs, often, they will bark when they hear a weird sound.
To know a Chihuahua, is to love a Chihuahua.
And, like I said before, they do not have to be "yappy" dogs, but they will bark when their keen sense of hearing warns of the approach of a stranger,or an unusual sound that is in the house.
Chihuahuas often spend hours basking in the sun, and they also love the warmth of the sun, especially the short haired ones.
