Rome is the capital city of Italy. It is also the most populated city in Italy with 2,775,250 people living there. Rome is the country’s center of government. It is also the communications center of Italy. In side its city limits is the Vatican the capital of the Roman Catholic religion. |
Rome is one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Many of its ancient monuments are still standing in Rome today. It also has many new 21st century buildings. Its university, the University of Rome is the largest in the country was found in1303. At Olympic stadium huge crowds come to watch club and international soccer matches, soccer is Italy’s most popular sport. |

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean. It is separated from the mainland by the straight of Messiana. Its population is 4,966,386. Sicily has a very diverse culture. It is home to Carthaginians, Romans Muslims and Normans. 85% of Sicily is covered with mountains and hills. |
