Skateboarding was invented in the late 50's in California. No one knows who totally invented it, around 4 or 5 people invented it about the same time. The first ones were more like scooters. Soon enough the handles broke off and they had a skateboard. Then after it got popular cities started to ban them because of health hazards. Soon the fad went its ways and skateboarding became less popular. But yet again it came back this time with better boards which had concave( a curve in the middle of the board) and the noses and tails were curved some. They also had urethane wheels rather than the old clay ones. These made for better traction.
