Treatments

There are lots and lots of treatments to cancers so if you’re diagnosed with this terrible sickness or if a family member of yours is, there is always an answer or treatment to any kind of cancer. But the treatments may cause other illness such as it may make your hair fall out, you may get nauseated, you can have severe skin change or other sickness.

Surgery- it is the oldest treatment of cancer treatment. To treat cancer this way the surgeon can cut out the bad tumor in his or hers body and sometimes have to remove some of the good tissue to be sure there’s no extra cancer cells in it.

Chemotherapy-it is a drug that kills the cancer cells; the drug attacks the cancer, interfering with the cancer cells. This drug currently kills rapidly reproducing good cells, which unfortunately includes hair cells, the stomach lining, and bone marrow many patients have nausea, and some loose their hair as a result to chemotherapy.

Radiation- roughly 60 percent of cancer patients undergo radiation therapy at some point during their treatment. Radiation therapy uses high-energy radiation to kill cancer cells, to slow or stop the spread of cancer. Radiation has its greatest effect on tissues that divide rapidly. Cancer cells treated this way area left unable to divide and multiply   causing the tumor to shrink. Radiation was first used to treat a cancer patient a little more than a century ago. Since the radiation therapy has come a long way. For example, Brachy therapy, a technique used to treat head and neck cancers as well as prostate cancer, doctors can insert a tiny rod with radioactive pellets near the tumor to shrink or kill it. The technique reduces radiation exposure to normal skin, muscle and various organs.

Immunotherapy- this harms the bodies own defense system in hopes of defeating cancer.
