Even though nuclear power plants are more expensive to build than fossil fuel plants; after they are built they are much cheaper to maintain. Fossil fuel plants need to spend a lot of money on fuel; uranium fuel lasts a lot longer than fossil fuel.

            Another advantage of using nuclear energy is that it doesn’t produce air pollutants.  If nuclear power took priority over fossil fuel the air we breathe would be of higher quality.

            There is one major issue about nuclear power.  This is that it produces radioactive waste.  If exposed to this waste it causes cancer, birth defects, and radiation sickness.  As of today nuclear waste is stored deep under ground, it is sealed away from moisture.  This is the safest way that we know of to store this waste.
