Nuclear energy is used widely throughout the world it supplies many people with electricity. Nuclear energy can also be used to power ships, submarines, and to make weapons.

                        The U.S. has more nuclear reactors than any other country. Nuclear energy is building in Asia and Europe. Worldwide there are about 39 nuclear power plants under construction. In the 1990’s there were 425 operating reactors in the U.S. there are even more today.  There are over 430 nuclear power plants in the world.

                        Since Nuclear Energy is rapidly building, we can use less and less fossil fuel. When fossil fuel runs out we may have to completely rely on alternative energy. It is good to have a reliable source like nuclear energy
