Mac Attack at CHMS -- Professional Days

Teachers were ecstatic when they were welcomed back to school this year by receiving their own MacBook!  All classroom instructional teachers received one making a total of 41 MacBooks.  In addition, CHMS received an additional 112 new iMacs for the classrooms.  Most of our classrooms now have anywhere from 3 to 6 desktop computers, some of which were our prior eMacs.  We have an iMac computer lab consisting of 32, a media lab of 25 eMacs, and 20 iMacs in the Library for assisting groups with integrating computers into their curriculum.

This technology initiative was possible by the CCPS taking out a 4-year lease on laptops and desktops for the 5 middle schools.  It is actually just the beginning of a county wide initiative that will progress in the elementary and high schools.  CHMS middle school teachers were thrilled and are planning their use of technology to further improve communication with the parents and to integrate technology into their classroom.
