Black History Month Research
Essential Question : How did the efforts, struggles and accomplishments of African Americans affect our lives today?
Language Arts students will write a short one-two page paper about a not-so-famous African American. Students will select a person from a list found in the classroom. Students will research about their person's personal life, accomplishments, contributions to society, hardships and struggles. Finally students will reflect upon the efforts of the not-so-famous African American and how it has impacted their lives. Students will use at least three resources and maintain accurate bibliographic citations for all useful resources.
Students will type or neatly handwrite the final paper. Students will need to include a bibliography of resources used for this project. Final papers are due in one week.
Students are required to use both print and digital resources. Select library books have been put on reserve in the school library. Below are some digital resources students will find useful.
