THE PRODUCT

Your final product will be a booklet containing the four writing assignments, a creative cover, and a formal bibliography page. Use the information you recorded on the graphic organizers to guide your writing. Organize your booklet in the following order.

Cover . . .
Neat, colorful, original artwork, student's name, and date

Friendly letter . . .
Correct format, word process, spell check, edit for grammar, one page long, includes personal reasons for joining the army.

Journal/Diary entry . . .
Correct format, word process, spell check, edit for grammar, one-two pages long, include personal insight into a soldier's life.

Newspaper article . . .
Correct format, word process, spell check, edit for grammar, one-two pages long, include the five W's, and make the reader believe they can "see, hear, smell, and touch" the events of the battlefield.

Business letter . . .
Correct format, word process, spell check, edit for grammar, one-two pages long, include a suggested new strategy, and diagram or map of the battle area.

Formal bibliography . . .
Correct format, minimum two print resources and two online resources, word process, and spell check.

Graphic organizers . . .
Include the graphic organizer for each writing assignment, may be hand written.
