How can I check to see if my information is relevant?

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Does the information answer my question or does it give me important new information?
  • What are the author's qualifications to provide this information? (Is the author a scientist conducting research, or does the information come from a student's science fair project? Which is more reliable?)
  • Is this information up to date?
  • Does the information inform, persuade, or both?
