Plan before you Begin

Since you have written good questions, it is time to plan WHERE you might find information to answer your questions. Brainstorm with your partner about what resources might best answer your important questions. Consider all these possible resources:

•books (Use the OPAC to locate books on your animal)
•encyclopedias (Use more than one to see if there is different information.)
•specialized encyclopedias or specialized reference books
•Internet websites
•magazines
•newspapers
•television documentaries
•interviewing experts
Before you begin locating information, you need to set up notecards. Model your notecards after the notecards below. Put one question on each notecard. Create a notecard for your bibliography. Make another notecard with your name, animal and block.

REMEMBER: You will write down ONLY information that answers your questions on the notecards. Other information will not be useful in preparing your presentation to convince the Save The Earth Foundation.

Show your notecards to your teacher before moving ahead.
