Presentation Criteria

HyperStudio Show: The HyperStudio show should include...

  • a minimum of 5 cards
  • buttons that accurately transition through the cards
  • graphic objects that are appropriate, well-placed, proportional, and enhance the text (minimum of 2 graphics)
  • text boxes
  • appropriate use of color, backgrounds/borders, and space to create visually attractive display
  • accurate use of spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation

Other Visual Aids: (If appropriate) Additional visual aids should...

  • capture the audience's attention
  • are appealing, neatly done, and make good use of space
  • clearly, directly and logically present information
  • include a variety of media that is appropriate to the content

Presentation: The speaker should...

  • capture the audience's attention with a strong opening
  • have good posture and maintain eye contact wth the audience
  • vary pacing as well as pitch, tone, and volume of voice
  • avoid nervous gestures and use body language to get the point across
  • use visual aids effectively to help the audience understand the topic
  • enunciate clearly and pronounce words correctly
  • restate main idea in the closing
