Follow that Rock!

 Use your geology skills to track down some specific types of rocks that the Maryland Geological Survey might be interested in including in their website.

 PROCESS:

1. With your partner, choose one example rock from each of the three categories of rocks. Look at the chart below to see your choices.

2. Next, click on the links for your example rocks. (To return to the WebQuest, press the "Back" button on the internet browser's toolbar.)

3. Please talk with your partner to make sense out of all the new information you're finding! Then, write down your answers in YOUR OWN WORDS. Use the columns Example and Example's Properties and Uses on your Rockin' Research Sheet.

4. If you find any completely cool information that does not fit on your chart, write it on the back!

5. While your are working, the teacher will be walking around to help you. The teacher will also be taking notes to grade you on how well you are using research and computer skills.
