Principal's Message

Dear Conowingo Elementary School Community,

I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to be the educational leader for Conowingo Elementary School and the community.  I am excited to work collaboratively with our students, parents and staff to provide learning opportunities that support the needs of all students. 

In order to accomplish our goals the students, staff and I will need your help.  Our PTO officers have already planned a “Back to School” picnic for Thursday, August 23rd,
4:00 –6:00 p.m. and I hope you will be able to attend.  This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and to see the classroom.  Please make a point to track me down and introduce yourself.  Working closely with all stakeholders is extremely important to me and I value your ideas, input and insight. You should be receiving a newsletter regarding specifics in the near future.

Until that time, I would like to share a few lines about my professional and personal life. This begins my 28th year working for Cecil County Public Schools and my 11th year as an administrator.  Prior to coming to Conowingo I served as principal at Kenmore and Leeds Elementary Schools, assistant principal at Rising Sun and Elk Neck Elementary Schools, Local Support Teacher at Bainbridge Elementary and teacher at Rising Sun Elementary. I am just as excited about working with children today as I was 28 years ago.  I grew up in Cecil County and graduated from Rising Sun High School.  My husband, Jim, and I live in Rising Sun with our two children (dogs-black labs), Atty and Lucky.

I look forward to a rewarding year and working with you in partnership to produce the greatest quality education for all students. I am excited about meeting your children and you.
