FBLA

Congratulations to the Elkton High School team for their amazing results at the FBLA State Competion! Four of our students earned first places in their events and will continue on to compete in the Naitonal Competition in June in Atlanta!

Congratulations to the Elkton High Concert Band.  The group received an overall superior rating at the Cecil County Band Festival held at Perryville High School on March 19.  The group now qualifies to represent Cecil County in the Maryland State Band Festival on April 29th and 30th at Morgan State University.  Elkton High's concert band will take the stage among Maryland's finest concert band programs at this event.

In this year’s Delaware Technical & Community College National Engineering Drafting Competition, students were given five days to complete a formal mechanical drawing and submit it for review.  Pierce Mathena is Elkton High School’s champion for 2007-2008. Several other students also submitted drawings for review:

Congrautations to Kelly Freudenberger for earning the top score for Elkton High School on the qualifying test for the US Physics Team!

For the second year in a row the Concert Choir has earned the right to go on to the Maryland State Choral Festival after earning an overall rating of a 1 at the Cecil and Harford County Festival on March 5.  Concert Choir will get to perform and be judged on the same stage as Maryland's best high school choirs on May 1 or May 2.  The event will be held at Morgan State University's Carl J. Murphy Center for the Performing Arts.

Congratulations to Zach Davis for being named as a National Merit Scholar! He is one of 10,500 students selected nation-wide from 1.4 million students.

Congratulations to Shaun Meadows, Kelsey Webb, Charlene Bottjer, and Zachary Davis for being nominated and accepted into the West Virginia University's Invitational Honor Band! Congratulations to Zach Davis for making first chair alto sax, and getting to play a solo in the concert!

On October 13, 2007, The Elkton High School Marching Band won the 2007 USSBA State Championship. The Elkton High School Color Guard took first place in the last three competitions! Their last competition is Saturday, November 3rd, at Upper Moreland High School in Willow, Gove, Pennsylvania.  Come and see them to experience this talent first hand!
