Do you need help figuring out how much that project or test is going to effect your grade? Here's a tool to help you...

Grades to Go

1. First log into your grades to go account and look at your list of assignments for one of your classes.

2. Download the Student Grade Calculation spreadsheet.

3. Highlight and copy your assignments and grades. It will look something like this: (these are just an example, you will probably have more grades than this example)

1 assignment 1 1/5/09 1 F Entered 100
2 assignment 2 1/10/09 1 F Entered 85
3 assignment 3 1/12/09 1 F Entered 87
4 assignment 4 1/13/09 1 F Entered 93

4. Open the spreadsheet, click on cell A7, and paste your assignments and grades into the spreadsheet. If there are more example assignments than what you have pasted select the information you do not want, go to the edit menu and choose clear, then clear contents.

5. The column titled "calculated grade" represents the course grade for that assignment and all previous assignments. You can see the percentage of course grade that is represented by each assignment, and if you change one or more of your grades you will see how it affects your course grade. There are two additional tabs in the workbook that graphically display how your marking period grade changes as you complete your assignment.

Here's a video explanation of how to manipulate this spreadsheet.
