The Leeds Elementary School Administrators

From the Desk of the Principal: Alan Loman
The new school year is underway and we have gotten off to a great start. The renovation to our heating and air conditioning system is complete and all of the classrooms in the building have new ceiling and lights. The teachers and students have been working together to get to know each other and develop the routines in the classrooms. I want to thank all of the parents for your support in making the beginning of school a great success. The partnership between home and school is critical for the success of students.
As we move into this new year I would like to encourage you to keep the lines of communication with your child’s teacher open. There may be times when you have questions or concerns and it’s important to direct your questions to the teachers. They are the ones working every day with your children and they can usually resolve any issues that may arise. This year’s Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, September 21st at 6:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and learn about expectations and plans for the year.
The importance of good attendance cannot be over emphasized. For students to succeed they must be in school. Obviously when children are sick, they need to stay home and get better. If your child is well, they need to be in school ready to work.
There is always excitement surrounding the opening of school for children as well as the teachers and staff. The entire faculty and staff of Leeds Elementary School is looking forward to a year filled with many successes for your children. We look forward to working with you to make this the best year ever for your child.
