Yes, We DID Make AYP !
Our staff recently heard terrific news about North East Elementary School’s performance on the 2008 Maryland School Assessment. When scores were first released this summer, it appeared that NEES did not make Adequate Yearly Progress, known by all of us in the school simply as, AYP. Our target every year is to achieve AYP for every group of students in both reading and math. When our file of student scores was examined more closely, the Maryland State Department of Education recalculated our performance and indeed, WE DID MAKE THE GRADE!!!
We are so proud of our students and teachers!!! Their efforts will help us reach our target again when we next tackle the Maryland School Performance in March of 2009. |

Title I
The Federal Government provides funding to states each year for Title I. The goal of Title I is a high quality education for every child. Title I resources are directed to schools with high poverty levels as determined by the percentage of students receiving free and reduced meals. |
