Rising Sun High School Statement of Beliefs

1. Every individual has inherent worth and unique talents and deserves to be treated with respect and fairness.  

2. Children learn at different rates and ways and therefore need to be challenged and inspired to achieve full potential and individual success.

3. Understanding and appreciation of social diversity including individual differences in culture, intellect, gender, age, and physical capability are critical to world peace and harmony.

4. In our community, family values based upon lasting traditions are valuable assets.

5. Educators empower students to achieve success by teaching responsibility and holding them accountable for their behavior and learning.

6. Providing students with a variety of extra-curricular and service learning activities gives them an opportunity for personal growth and excellence.

7. We value life-long learning as an essential component for success in a rapidly changing world.

8. It is the responsibility of the educator to provide meaningful instruction through the development of rigorous challenges.

9. A safe and secure environment is the right and responsibility of all members of the Rising Sun High School community.
