I am very excited about beginning a new school year at Calvert!  This is my 10th year teaching for Cecil County Public Schools.  This year I will be working in Kindergarten and First grade classrooms, implementing the inclusion model.  I will also be teaching LiPS intervention groups, which helps students improve their ability to recognize, produce and recall letter sounds.

Why am I teaching?

I have the ability to teach: not only the curriculum,  but the importance of learning.  I will encourage my students to value learning, develop their unique learning style and overcome the challenges that will be present.  Each student I work with is important and appreciated.  I will model caring and respect and expect my students to behave in this manner.  The students and I will revisit the following terms throughout the year to make sure the learning process is purposeful and productive.

Mission: a strongly felt aim, ambition, or calling

Character: the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual

Quality: the degree of excellence of something
