7th Grade Language Arts Units
 
 
Research Process Within this unit we will visit the Media Center to answer essential questions for our research paper. We will work on the computer accessing encyclopedias online as well as perusing books for pertinent information. We will then write our research papers back in the classroom.
Biography Unit
In the Biography unit, we will read about several interesting people, including Roald Dahl, Jackie Robinson, and Commodore Perry.   You will also get a chance to write your very own memoir.  I can’t wait to hear all about you!
 
 
 
 
 
 
Mythology Unit
In this unit we will read several myths from around the world.  We will also become VERY familiar with 12 gods and goddesses by participating in an online activity.  Yes...you will be tested on these!  Also, we will read a GREAT novel entitled The Adventures of Ulysses.  Additionally, you will be asked to create a travel brochure for sea-going dare devils!
 
Mystery Unit
We will learn various vocabulary pertaining to mysteries.  We will also watch “The Haunted House Mystery” and try to solve it in groups as detectives!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Power Unit
During the course of this unit we will learn about the 4 types of power: Physical, Intellectual, Power of a Group and Individual Power and evaluating several essential questions that relate to these powers.
