Thomas Mansell, S.J., one of the earliest permanent Catholic establishments in the English Colonies. Bohemia Academy, founded here in 1745 by Rev. Thomas Pulton, S.J., attended by John Carroll, first Catholic Bishop of the United States, and his cousin, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, signer of the Declaration of Independence. The Old Bohemia Historical Society Inc., Warwick, Md., is working to complete the restoration of this historic shrine and to assure its future maintenance. Postmark Nov 17, 1962 |
