What Happened This Week?
On Saturday, February 10, several students participated in the Solo & Ensemble Festival. All students earned a rating of Excellent or higher, with the following students earning Superior ratings, qualifying them to participate at the State Festival at Towson University in May: Jada Obegi, Nadiya Olusoga, Michael Pratt, Jada Robinson, Tony Rosado and Ellie Teigland. Congratulations!
Report Cards were issued on Monday afternoon. Please talk with your child about his or her grades and help them set goals for the third marking period. After speaking with your child, if you have questions or concerns about their grades, please reach out to specific teachers or call the Guidance Office to set up a parent conference.
Olympians and their teachers participated in a Staff vs. Students volleyball game for earning Gold Days (days without Office Disciplinary Referrals).
Middle School Movers basketball played Cherry Hill Middle School on Tuesday afternoon. Again, great sportsmanship was displayed by all. Our EMS cheerleaders performed wonderfully at half time and kept the audience entertained throughout the game. Next week, EMS movers will go to Perryville Middle School on Thursday, February 15. The bus will leave EMS at 2:00. Parents should be at EMS by 5:00 to pick up students after they return. This is a change to the posted schedule!
The Valentine’s Dance was held on Thursday afternoon. This dance was sponsored by the National Junior Honor Society, who hopes to raise funds for a college tour and trip to New York City this spring. A fun time was had by all!
