Welcome Back to School from Mr. Whisner
The end of August signals the start of Fall, football season, and the start of another school year. At Charlestown Elementary, we are ready to see our students—students who are returning and students who enrolled this summer! The first day of school brings out a host of feelings such as excitement, nervousness, happiness, and anticipation. And that’s just the parents! I am delighted to begin my third year at Charlestown and continue to build relationships with our families and staff members.
At Charlestown, we believe that all of our students ROAR like Dragons as they strive to reach increasing levels of academic, personal, social, and emotional growth. In other words, we develop “the whole child”. Our school is a community of learners and our work is accomplished with passion based on four primary tenets—Focused Instruction, Parent-Teacher Communication and Partnerships, Individualized and Collaborative Learning Experiences, and a Safe and Caring Learning Environment.
The learning that occurs at Charlestown is not possible without the strong relationships that exist with our students, parents, businesses, and town community members. I would like to thank you for all of your support. Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!!
