  • Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries: 
    This introductory course (15 hours, 1 MSDE credit) will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize and treat basic injuries in sports medicine. Classes are conducted by ATI Physical Therapy and Bill Waibel, a physical education teacher from Joppatowne High.

    This course fulfills the basic requirement for coaches in any public school in Maryland. The content is designed for new athletic coaches. Topics include: liability issues, emergency procedures, medical kit review, injury assessment and treatment, mini anatomy lab, and wrapping and taping. 
    Participants will need to dress for participation, as we will be doing hands on assessment, wrapping and taping. You must register in advance. Class is limited to 20 participants.
