Joseph C. Ferdinando
Joe Ferdinando has been a member of the Cecil County community for more than 30 years. He is a graduate of Rising Sun High School where he met and fell in love with his wife, Melissa. They have been married for 20 years and have two daughters. Like their mom, their girls have been students of Calvert Elementary, Rising Sun Middle, and Rising Sun High.
Joe is a believer of the importance of student athletics. He has seen them build character, resilience, and communication skills among countless other attributes. A coach of local youth sports for more than ten years, Joe now has the great privilege of coaching the JV Softball Lady Tigers. Those engagements introduced him to many Cecil County students. He considers that one of his greatest opportunities; mentoring and coaching young adults is a strength and passion of his.
Joe is rooted in his Christian faith. He and his wife served on the Launch Team that brought Freedom Church to Rising Sun. He believes in the relationships that are built there and their impact on our local community. Leading and taking part in faith-based small groups has been a source of personal growth for him.
The Ferdinando family loves their community. They are dedicated to serving it. As a parent of CCPS students, Joe has an intimate view of the strengths and challenges in our schools. His goal as the District 3 representative is to collaborate with stakeholders to create a learning environment that is safe, challenging, intriguing, creative, and acts as an effective conduit for their transition into the trades and education they wish to pursue. Mr. Ferdinando says that advocating for all students is a great honor that he does not take lightly.
