Kelsey Meis

  • Kelsey Meis

Student Member, Board of Education of Cecil County
    District: Countywide
    Term Ends: June 2020

Kelsey Meis is a junior at Bohemia Manor High. She is a proud runner on her school's Cross Country and Indoor Track teams, as well as the first girls' singles player on the Tennis team. Kelsey swam on the YMCA swim team for over seven years, and is working to see more high school swim teams take form around the county.

From late spring to early fall, Kelsey works as a Fuel Dock Hand and Lifeguard at Bohemia Bay Yacht Harbor, a marina on the Bohemia River. As a lover of books, retro music, sports, and cooking, Miss Meis always finds a way to keep busy.

After being a class officer her freshman year, Kelsey determined that her best interests lay far beyond that position's painfully short term goals. She is now deeply involved in the Drug Free Cecil Coalition and Youth Coalition, addressing substance abuse through prevention, treatment, recovery, and public safety. Kelsey believes that the increasing partnership between Drug Free Cecil and CCPS is essential to substance abuse prevention in our communities.
Her title as Student Member of the Board encompasses her same role on the County Council of Student Councils. Whether it be for the Board of Education, Student Council, or Drug Free Cecil, Kelsey looks forward to bringing her and her classmates' perspectives to each and every meeting.
