Family Resource Center for Special Education (FRC)
The CCPS Family Resource Center for Special Education (FRC)
exists to provide a resource for families, educators, and the community that will benefit all children with disabilities from birth to 21 years of age. The center provides training, resources, and linkages between the school and the community.
The center's activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Offer support to families who need someone to talk to on an individual basis in a confidential, supportive atmosphere.
- Refer families to local support groups, workshops, advocacy groups, and recreational opportunities.
- Provide an opportunity for families to network and share ideas and experiences.
- Help families navigate the special education process.
- Maintain a lending library of books and DVD's on a wide range of special education topics such as types of disabilities, parenting, social skills, advocacy, and special education law.
- Increase family involvement in the early intervention and special education decision making process
- Increase collaborative relationships through information and training
- Assist families in resolving concerns and making informed decisions regarding their child's education
- Provide information about disabilities and school system and community resources

- The Judy Center is offering light refreshments and GRAND prizes.
