What is a Community School?  Community Schools are funded through a Concentration of Poverty Grant as written in the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. With over 600 community schools in Maryland, they are implemented to support students and families. Community Schools serve as a hub to bring together the school, student, and community partners to remove barriers to learning. Community School Advisors work to unite people’s compassion for one another to provide wraparound services to promote student success. The state recognizes community schools as a budget priority and continues to value their impact in communities. It is projected that the community school program will continue to grow.

Community School Vision:  Together, we will be a thriving community network where every student and family has the physical, social-emotional, and academic resources to achieve their fullest potential.

Community School Mission:  Cecil County Community Schools are dedicated to fostering collaborative partnerships that support the physical, social-emotional, and academic growth of every child and family. Through building strong relationships within our community, we create a thriving environment where all individuals flourish and are empowered to reach their fullest potential.
