Lisa Lowe, Principal

  • It is truly an honor to serve as principal of North East Elementary. My journey in education really started in 1994, when I became a tutor at Calvert Elementary school during my senior year of high school where I quickly discovered my passion for teaching.  After graduating college I came home to Cecil County where I spent ten years as a in Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms and later becoming an Instructional Resource teacher.  In my transition to administration I spent five years as an assistant principal at Conowingo and Rising Sun Elementary.  As a principal, I then spent two years at Perryville Elementary before coming here to North East for the last four.  With 20 years of educational experience in Cecil County, I am truly committed to the children in our educational system.

I do not view the position of principal as a job, but instead as an opportunity to lead our school to accomplish great things. The role of principal entails many exciting opportunities associated with student achievement. However, most importantly, my personal and professional goal is to provide children at North East with the best educational experience possible – one that will build a foundation for life-long learning.

At North East we always put kids first! Our belief is that all students can learn, and it is our job to support all of their needs. As educators, we need to discover how each child learns to support diverse learning styles. We also believe that children should love school!  In a collaborative effort, we want children to thrive in all ways possible. At North East, our mission is to provide such an environment for all of our students.

Our message to all parents is to stay involved. This can be accomplished by staying in contact with your child’s teacher. Our expectations will be to consistently make sure you are aware of your child’s progress, and answer any questions or concerns you have at any time. This form of two-way monitoring will help ensure the success of your child’s education and well-being.

I feel fortunate and blessed to be in this leadership role and welcome it every day with open arms. This year there will be countless exciting events and activities planned for all of our students. We welcome our families and the community to be an active part of the learning that occurs at North East Elementary.  We look forward to another exciting year together.

     Sincerely,
