DOES Vision and Mission

  • Welcome to Cecil County Public Schools!

We are a vibrant learning community aimed at serving all learners and families.  Our district is built on the commitment to fostering a culture of learning, innovation, transparency, and collaboration.  CCPS aims to provide an environment that nurtures each student’s individuality to help them discover their passions and potential.  By fostering a love of learning, we will empower our students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners.

Technology continues to play a powerful role in our educational process.  We have leveraged tools to enhance the educational experience without losing the valuable relationships that are forged in our classrooms.  Our balanced approach allows us to harness the benefits of technology, preparing our students for their future while maintaining meaningful connections with each other.

The well-being and safety of our students, staff, and families is of paramount importance.  We have leveraged technologies to keep our students safe online and in our classrooms.  We continue to prioritize mental health, socialization, and problem-solving to promote a sense of belonging for everyone.

Collaboration is key to our success.  We encourage active participation from parents, guardians, and the wider community.  Perspectives, feedback, and involvement make us stronger, more responsive, and better equipped to create an exceptional journey for every student.

As we set forth, let’s keep our shared values of integrity, equity, high standards, collaboration, and supporting the whole learner at the center.  I have lived in Cecil County my whole life.  I know that together, we can meet the vision of Cecil County Public Schools by “Serving learners, families, and the Community” to be productive citizens and make our community a better place for all.

    Yours in Learning,

    Jenni Hammer, Ed.D.
