  • MSDE Parent Survey Special Education Parent Involvement Survey
    MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!  YOUR OPINION MATTERS!
    Parents or guardians of children receiving special education and related services will be mailed the Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey from the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services during the week of February 5, 2018.  Parents are asked to complete the survey and return it in the postage paid envelope by May 1, 2018.  The survey may also be completed online.  Please look for details in your survey packet.  Your feedback will help guide efforts to improve special education and related services in your local school system.  Your voice can make a real difference for your child and many other children across the state of Maryland.  To learn more, please visit https://www.mdparentsurvey.com.

  • The CCPS Parent Resource Center for Special Education exists to provide a resource for parents, educators, and the communitycenter that will benefit all youth with disabilities. The center provides training, resources, and linkages between the school and community. Staffed by parents and educators, the center activities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Maintain a lending library of articles, newsletters, books, and videotapes on a wide range of special education topics such as special education law, types of disabilities, support groups, and recreational opportunities.
    • Seek ways to encourage and strengthen communication between parents and school personnel.
    • Refer families to local support groups, workshops, and advocacy groups.
    • Provide an opportunity for families to network and share ideas and experiences.
    • Link experienced parents to parents of newly identified children with similar special needs.
    • Offer support to parents who need someone to talk to on an individual basis in a confidential, supportive atmosphere.


    The CCPS Parent Resource Center for Special Education is a cooperative program that includes the:

    *If Cecil County Public Schools are closed, the PRC office will be closed.
    *If CCPS is delayed due to inclement weather, PRC events for that day will be canceled.
